About Dash

El Paso , TX
Montwood High School

Dash Diaz is one of the newest additions to the Harlem Globetrotters’ star-studded roster and brings some of the most unique set of handles seen with the team, incorporating breakdancing into his ball handling routine.

Before joining the Globetrotters, Diaz earned a reputation in the basketball world for his blistering street-style of play. He built his notoriety on the courts of Venice, Calif., playing for the Venice Basketball League (VBL) for nine years, and courts around the world as he toured with various exhibition teams.

His one-of-a-kind ball handling skills earned him spots in music videos and various television commercials – including an appearance in a Wells Fargo commercial, as well as placement in a promo for the Minions movie alongside NBA stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Prior to playing for the VBL, Diaz played basketball for Montwood High School in his hometown of El Paso, Texas, followed by a five-year stretch playing professionally for various teams in Mexico.

If you ask Diaz how long he’s been perfecting his craft, he’ll tell you he’s been playing since he was a toddler and first played organized basketball at age 5.

Now that he is a Globetrotters star, Diaz would like to use his platform to motivate youth around the world. “I feel like it’s my responsibility to give back because I’ve been blessed enough to have this opportunity and share my story, struggles, and accomplishments with others and show kids out there that anything is possible.”
